PERFORMANCES. TOURS. LECTURES.
Save the date for Humanities Day on Saturday, October 21, 2023. The Division of the Humanities will feature about 30 presentations and tours by leading scholars in the arts, literature, languages, cinema, philosophy, music, and linguistics.
Each year Humanities Day presents the public with a snapshot of leading humanities research at the University of Chicago. This year’s Humanities Day Keynote Speaker is Sianne Ngai, the Andrew W. Mellon Professor, in the Department of English Language and Literature and the College.
What does humanities scholarship look like?
Humanities Day, an annual tradition at the University of Chicago since 1980, celebrated the humanities this year on October 15 both in person and virtually through free discussions, performances, and lectures featuring the latest research of our award-winning faculty in the Division of the Humanities.
